When you create an account, we collect your email address and the display name and username you choose. When you write a review, we store the content of that review along with a star rating and the date of your visit. We also store a list of any restaurants you save as favourites and any friend connections you make on the platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to operate ChowLog — to display your reviews, personalise your feed, and enable social features like friend requests. We do not sell your data to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Third-Party Services

ChowLog uses Supabase for authentication and database storage, and the Google Places API to retrieve restaurant information. Please review the privacy policies of those providers for details on how they handle data.

4. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the address below. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.

5. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, row-level security in our database, and rate limiting on all API endpoints. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
